This topic will be very important for people who prefer healthy lifestyle and healthy eating. I would like to provide you information about functional food. Read this article to the end and you will know what is it.

So let’s start. I would like to give you some kind of definition of a functional food. It’s a kind of food that of course have to feed people, but apart from that it have to influence human organism (for example it can reduce cholesterol level in blood, strengthen hardiness of human body, it can remove problems connected with digestive tract and it can heal people or help with healing). Func. food can be an element of everyday diet (there are many healthy recipes that include func. food). So any tablets or any other pharmaceutical products are not included in group of func. food. It should be a product made from natural ingredients that can make people more healthy.

The functional food ingredients are products with high level of such ingredients as: fatty acid, food cellulose, vitamins, probiotics, prebiotics and products with low level of such ingredients as: cholesterol or calories.

Functional food and healthy recipes connected with it are very popular in west Europe and in United States of America, but the lider in production of such food is Japan. In this country healthy recipes and functional food are the most popular (people in Japan were working on it about 30 years ago).

That’s all I wanted to write about healthy recipes and healthy functional food. I hope that this kind of food will be very popular in Poland and other countries in which they aren’t important. I believe that this kind of food will improve health of people in the whole world.

Dogs with allergies need special consideration and part of that is a change in diet. This can be easily accomplished by a simple search for dog food recipes for dogs with allergies. Dogs that have allergies in the large part have a serious sensitivity to commercially prepared food, which is the food that is generally available for a fairly low cost in your local supermarket.

Although commercially prepared dog food may be convenient, there is actually very little that the manufacturers take into consideration when it comes to your dog’s health and need for a nutritious food. Dog food recipes for dogs with allergies tend to be a more healthy choice for several reasons.

  • The ingredients that are used in these recipes are usually whole or fresh foods, or foods, lean meats and broths for flavoring. There are no added preservatives or fillers. Fillers are added to commercially prepared dog food to increase their bulk and weight, but provide absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever.
  • You can control exactly what goes into dog food recipes for dogs with allergies by choosing the recipes that you deem appropriate.
  • Large batches of these recipes can be prepared and then divided into individual serving sizes which can be frozen for future use.

Many dog owners find that dog food recipes for dogs with allergies are readily available in many popular sources.

You may go to your local bookstore and purchase a book, download one online or even find recipes for free. The recipes in themselves are great; however, you will need to supplement the food by adding minerals and vitamins to ensure that your dog is getting all of the nutritional value that he requires daily.

There are many ways to prepare dog food recipes for dogs with allergies.

The best thing to keep in mind is that you want to prepare large quantities of the recipe as mentioned earlier, so that you do not have to prepare it repeatedly throughout the week. You may wish to prepare enough for several weeks, and you also may wish to prepare more than one recipe to give your dog some variety.

Eating the same thing day in and day out can become very mundane, as you are probably quite aware. In addition, if you are supplementing, be sure to keep the vitamins and minerals separate from the recipe, adding it in only at the last moment in order to ensure optimum benefit from a fresh supplement.

Once you stop feeding your dog a commercially available food and begin feeding him a restaurant quality home recipe dog food (restaurant quality when compared to the garbage available for purchase in a bag). You will begin to notice many changes for the better. Your dog will probably stop scratching, hot spots will disappear, there will be no more paw licking and his skin will begin to become less dry. Your dog deserves to be healthy and happy and you have a responsibility to feed him as best as you can, while also ensuring he is receiving the proper nutrition.

Following dog food recipes for dogs with allergies is a simple and cost effective method of enhancing your pet’s general wellbeing.

Dog Food Recipes Information – Home-Made Is Best

All dog owners are concerned with providing their pets with optimal nutrition and of course that comes from good quality brands. It is no surprise that many people look for information about dog food recipes online. With most dogs now living in urban areas they are largely fed prepackaged and processed dog food.

It’s no secret that modern processed dog foods sometimes contain less goodness and nutrition than many believe. In fact, there are several health problems associated with some ingredients included in commercial preparations.

That’s not to say that all the processed pet foods will harm your dog.

However, if you want your dog to live an active long and happy life you can be assured that by feeding them homemade meals you will have a healthy pet.

In the same way as humans need a balanced diet and a diet which includes all the essential nutrients for good development of bones and tissues, so do dogs. Poor nutrition and a lack of the necessary nutrients can reduce the life expectancy of your dog and can contribute to slow or stunted growth and slow recovery after injury.

Proteins in Dog Nutrition

Proteins are a very important part of the nutrients in a dog’s diet. Not only are they critical for almost all aspects of growth and development, they contribute to the efficiency of your dogs immune system. It is important to recognize that excess proteins convert to, and can be stored as fat.

Good dog food recipes will include the correct balance of proteins to other nutrients, so if fed at the right amount, your dog will be fit, healthy and not overweight.

There is ample information about dog food recipes available from reputable sites across the net.

Dog owners should understand some of the labeling which pets food companies use on their products concerning the ingredients in their food.

Usually, the level of protein on pet food labels is the total protein content of the food and not the amount of digestible protein. In better quality foods, the level of digestible protein can be above 70%. Some lower quality foods have a digestible protein level of less than 60%.

Meat and chicken byproducts, which most commercial dog foods contain, provide adequate levels of digestible protein. Sometimes, the quality of these foods is not high, but the protein is provided in an acceptable form. Grains can be used in dog food recipes to provide protein, but they are really not providing a high percentage of digestible protein.

In lots of ways, grains simply add to the carbohydrate load of the food. Meat and bone meal, which are commonly used in commercial recipes are lower quality forms of protein and hence contain less digestible protein.

Fats

In the human world, fat intake is seen as a negative, it is a critical part of your dog’s diet. Actually, fats contain quite a lot of energy, and since dogs are very active, the correct amount of fat in dog food recipes is important. Fats also contribute to kidney function and the maintenance of healthy skin and a nice shiny coat.

Carbohydrates

Another critical part of a dog’s diet which provides them with energy, is carbohydrates. Dogs require a clean source of carbohydrate that they can use for energy.

Summary

By discovering good information about dog food recipes, and preparing your dog a well-balanced and nutritional home-made meal, it is possible to closely regulate the nutrients and nutrition you are feeding them. Once you know the correct proportions and correct levels of each food, element, you can give them the correct portion size for their breed and body weight.

You will also know that your recipes contain no artificial flavorings, preservatives or additives. Lots of home-made dog food recipes include ingredients like vegetables, pumpkins, honey, bananas, peanut butter and apples.

Of course they also contain hardly nutritious meats, fish, turkey and chicken. Easy Raw Food Recipes

You may be a raw food newbie looking for recipes that are simple and easy, or you may be a raw food veteran who’s too busy to really have enough time to spend preparing your healthy meal. Well, the most common raw vegan recipe that is very easy and quick to whip up is your typical raw salad. How boring. Lucky you, you’ve landed on a page that has a list of some very easy raw food recipes you can prepare in just five minutes or less!

Before we get down on the list, let me tell you this: if you don’t already have it, you should at least get yourself a blender or a food processor! Trust me. These kitchen tools are like every raw fooder’s best buddies! They’re very handy and can make everything so much easier.

But if you don’t have a blender or a food processor (yet) you can first try making one of these easy raw food recipes that don’t need any equipment, like marinated mushrooms or chocolate fudge.

Raw marinated mushroom recipe

You will absolutely love this very delicious recipe. You will need sliced mushrooms, olive oil and raw soy sauce (nama shoyu). Just pour the oil and soy sauce over your mushrooms, gently stir, and let it sit for about five minutes. And that’s it. Too easy? Well it is really that easy! Raw food recipes don’t have to be complicated to be tasty and these raw marinated mushrooms have a real cooked feel to them. Of course, you can pair this dish with other raw vegan recipes like raw salads or raw soups. Explore the options and surprise yourself!

Raw chocolate fudge in 1 minute

No it’s not a typo. You can really produce raw chocolate fudge in just 1 minute. Or maybe even less! Simply mix cocoa powder with coconut oil and honey in a small bowl. Watch the measurements and don’t add too much of any ingredient though. I’m sure it won’t take long for you to mix it as I’m also sure it won’t stay long in its bowl. Easy raw food recipes like this can be made even without you having to stay in the kitchen.

Rawtarian’s silky green smoothie recipe

Okay, here’s one of the easy raw food recipes that needs a blender, and a high-speed blender is highly recommended. For this recipe just blend bananas, oranges, an apple, spinach, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and/or chia seeds together. The silky texture is what really makes it so tasty because green smoothies like this usually need to be blended until silky smooth to taste the best.

Raw salmon salad pate recipe

The name may sound like it’s going to be a complicated one to make but in truth, this one is so easy! Raw food recipes like this are surprisingly divine for your taste buds. Sometimes, especially in cases like this, less is surely more.

Benefits of a Homemade Dog Food Recipe Diet

Introduction

Warning: “Table scraps can be dangerous to your dog’s health!

I haven’t seen this warning label officially posted anywhere, though it surely comes from those who want to prohibit you from feeding your pet a homemade dog food recipe diet.

Even so, only in the last 100 years have we reached the consensus that our pets can only eat packaged food. Surely, our great-great grand-daddies had no idea how to raise dogs on all those awful table scraps, nor did all those civilizations who lived 1,000s of years before us without dry packaged dog food.

What’s in Your Dog’s Bowl?

But there is growing awareness and evidence that a homemade dog food recipe is a much better option for your pet than a bowl of dry kibble and that a natural food diet is the perfect rebuttal to the packaged pet food chorus.

Many dog lovers, for example, are concerned about the preservatives and additives found in canned or dry “kibble” pet food. And genuinely so, since some vets are also beginning to attribute many modern-day pet illnesses to the highly processed diets they receive from this type of food.

While there are some wonderfully conscientious pet food companies, who provide good quality dog food, the vast majority are perfectly happy to dish out poor substandard meals.

A Homemade Dog Food Recipe

Enter the homemade recipe. These recipes contain ingredients that even humans would consume (a fact that cannot be said for the typical pet food ingredients).

We know that there is no living species on the planet that sustains itself on a diet of cooked food. This is why some homemade dog food recipes call for raw food. Furthermore, these wonderfully fresh, healthy pet food recipes are quite easy to prepare. And they provide variety and a mixture of food for your pet, instead of the bland, crunchy, boring (fat sprayed) bits they are used to eating.

Fresh, homemade dog food recipes call for ingredients that are low in sugar, though fat and oil should be included. But even processed sugar can be substituted with a little honey or molasses instead. I guarantee Rover will lick his chops over that.

You Control The Ingredients

But beyond the fact that you are giving your lovable mutt a very healthy, home-cooked dog food recipe, you also know exactly what it is you are feeding your dog (again, a fact that cannot be said for most of what we normally give our pets).

For example, pet food companies are allowed to change 15% of their pet food recipes without changing their labels, thus you may not always know exactly what’s in the bag, even though you think you know.

As another example, if a bag contains 4-5 different forms of one grain, they are listed separately. But this masks the fact that if one added up all of the corn related products (i.e. corn gluten meal, corn bran, corn grits, etc) the sum could potentially be a higher percentage than the meat ingredients. While this is legally allowed, there are many people who contest that the practice is misleading for consumers.

Conclusion

Once you truly discover what’s in a pet food bag, you may want to switch over to some natural dog food recipes. They are truly easy to make, are way better for your dog, and you can have fun experimenting with the variety and flavor of delicious home-cooked recipes your dog will love.

I would venture to say they are even a cut above the table scraps your grand-daddy used to serve his pets.
